Wool pellets
Wool pellets are a high nitrogen, low phosphorus soil amendment for gardening. Processed here in Vermont from our flock’s waste wool, these pellets add organic material to soil, act as a slow-release fertilizer, and help soils stay moist. I add a handful at the bottom of container plants and hanging baskets, and have noticed a real difference in the vitality of the plants and the frequency of watering. Wool pellets scattered on the soil surface can have a similar benefit, and can also help to deter snails and slugs. A 1 quart bag is approximately 600 grams/1 pound 6 ounces.
